South Karnataka and a small part of Tamil Nadu are better for year-round living—Bangalore, Mysuru, Yelahanka, Coimbatore, and Hosur (along with Ooty and Kodaikanal for mountain lovers).

1. PG is a better option because even 1bhk will cost about 6k to 8k. There are a lot of PGs around Labbipet and it’s very near to your office hardly 10mins from Labbipet. Lot of PG available in Suryaraopet also but a little far away and finding direct transport is difficult.
2. Not know Telugu is problematic when buying vegetables or asking someone one for directions or locations, Everything else won’t be a problem 
3. There are only two seasons in Vijayawada summer and rainy 
4. Food is good here you will get a lot of options from all the cultures of India
5.Not sure of hotels near railway station better come to MG road
6. Non I can advise 
7. I can’t speak for your friend but many of my colleagues are not native to Andhra and they never complain about such a thing

1.There are plenty.. You could google.. Rents are costly even for a tier-2 city.. So PG is better option

3.As you're from Uk, Winters here are comfortable.. Temperatures rarely go beyond 18..
Summers are hella hot.. This year's max is 48°C

4.There are a lot of Northies here.. The one's I know never complained about the food.. That's like least of your problems

5.1.5k is hella lot for a single bed room.. You could get a decent hotel for 1k....Use google

6. Beware of the traffic if you decide to drive.. People doesn't follow rules here neither the traffic police care..especially with two wheelers...
Make sure to try Andhra food, especially for breakfast .. Vijayawada has some of the best breakfast in the country.. 
Being a two tier city, Dating culture sucks.. Don't come with any Expections.. You rarely get matched. 

7.This is common across all the southern states, in particular towards the workers who come here for construction related work... But I don't think educated folk would receive the same treatment.

I don't know much about pgs but you can stay in hotels near Benz circle it will be easier for you to search and go back to room

People here don't really care where you are from ,but auto guys might charge higher prices if you sound like you don't know the route but  it happens to locals also who are new to ayawada

There are many supermarkets where you can get everything you need

No need for jackets , you don't even feel it as winter here ,but in summer temp will go up to 45-47 may be AC room will be good for those 2-3 months

Vijayawada is different, we don’t care about which language you speak unlike Karnataka and tamilnadu . We are not part of any Dravidian movement or language supremacists. Most of the youngsters do understand English and your office is on bandar road so no issue at all with English . 

If you stay near one town area you won’t have any problem with Hindi language due to huge population of Hindi speaking marwaris and Muslims . but that area is not recommended if your office is at Benz circle . 

Since your office is in chandramoulipuram , no need to cross Benz circle . That saves hell of your time 

Weathers is worst part , 10 months you sweat from every  part of your body . Humidity is real killer , and summers are harsh . Hydrating yourself a lot is the key . Moisturizers , humidifiers , jackets and oil soaps are not required in vijayawada . Peak summer is from March to June , rains between July and August . Sep to Nov feels like autumn with little touch of heat . Best months to live life in vijayawada are December and January . 

Mostly food is dominated by andhra cuisine , but you can manage if you could find suitable restaurants. Come with open heart to try food here 

As everyone mentioned try to find a PG near labbipet , these PGs are filled with CA students . So eventually you would end up finding a small room or pent house . Rents are not that expensive in vijayawada . Except bandar road from Ben circle to one town remaining areas 2BHK rent is 10k only , 

In general people of Andhra are soft spoken and open to guests always .

I stayed at Vijayawada for 3 months. Got a decent fully furnished apartment for 10k in a nice residential area.
Summers are really really hot. 
 Communication can be an issue if you don't know the local language. I don't find people welcoming.
People don't take traffic signals seriously.
